Layout properties

This task area you get from the System menu. Here you can specify general settings for the layout document.

Project name

The project name defaults to New Layout and can be changed, for example, to identify the subject area of the layout document. It is visible in the title bar and is output to the layout in the title block during print/PDF export.

Dimension and grid

Layout size, grid visibility and spacing are configured here.

The layout size always changes starting from the layout origin, which is located at the bottom left (coordinates: x-position = 0, y-position = 0). The layout can therefore be enlarged or reduced to the right and upwards.

The grid settings take effect in the layout area and in the 3D view.

Units

The units for dimensions and currency can be defined on a layout-specific basis.

• Dimensions can be used continuously in both the metric and imperial systems. The toggle switch triggers an immediate conversion and display of all dimensions specified and entered in the layout into the selected unit system.
  
• The currency setting applies to the Logistics Evaluation and the Analysis (Excel export). The exchange rates must be defined for every currency combination required for the layout. The following currencies can be configured:
  
  • EUR - Euro (€)
    
  • GBP - British Pound (£)
    
  • USD - U.S. Dollar ($)
    
  • CZK - Czech Koruna (KČ)
    
  • PLN - Polish Zloty (zl)
    
    

Metric Dimensions

For metric dimensions, you can choose whether meters or millimeters should be used as the unit of measurement for dimensioning. By default, dimensions from 10 m onwards are automatically displayed in meters; otherwise, they are shown in millimeters.

Notes

Multi-line notes can be assigned here. ENTER creates a line break.

Number of objects

Lists the number of different object types in the layout.
The line Vertex: outputs a complexity indicator for the 2D layout. This information is helpful in support cases.

Version Information

The top line contains information about the graphics card currently in use.
The bottom line indicates the version number of the visTable® software.
